La Ventana weather by month
La Ventana's weather has two seasons. From mid-October to early April a north wind fills the bay most afternoons, the days are warm and the nights cool. Summer is hot, still and humid, with the warmest water of the year.
The wind season
- Mid-October to early April; the peak is December to March.
- Early season 18–22 kt, peak 20–25 kt, late season 15–20 kt.
- In summer the north wind is gone: a light 5–10 kt afternoon breeze.
When the wind comes in
- The bay is glass in the morning.
- Wind builds between 11am and 1pm, peaks 2–5pm, eases at sunset.
Air
- Winter days are lovely; midwinter nights get properly cool.
- July reaches 33 °C by early afternoon, high twenties at night.
- Late summer is hurricane season.
